This was our first major building project and we were amazed at how smoothly the project went. Greg and Tom are both fantastic communicators which makes all the difference.
It was great to see how quickly the renovations took shape. It seemed that every day there was something major which had been completed. The quality of workmanship was exceptional and if Greg didn’t like the outcome with something he redid it before we even noticed.
We had an architect for the project but he was hardly needed during construction as these builders were clearly very experienced.
We are very happy in our renovated home and are so pleased that we used Tom Ryan Builders for our first project.

After a lengthy period of meeting builders to build our home we were recommended Tom Ryan by two people within a few weeks. Both made the same comments about working with Tom and Greg, comments I endorse completely.
First they communicate openly and honestly. If there are any problems they told us up front. If the issue was their issue they met this responsibility directly and quickly. They maintained a close working relationship with us from the signing of he contract to handing over the keys. At every stage (sometimes two or three times a day) we were in contact. They are backed up by a team of solid sub-contractors who share the same values Tom and Greg do. They could be counted on to educate us in their area of expertise in a polite and helpful manner. And what we discussed was conveyed to Greg and Tom seamlessly so we were all on the same page.

We engaged Tom Ryan and Greg Watson to build a granny flat in our back garden in mid 2018.
They were the only builders we spoke to who didn’t have any problems with access which was a major point in their favour. Throughout the build they were full of good ideas around improving the final build and mitigating risks of flooding and termite inspection enablement.
Greg and his team were very professional and great communicators being very prompt to get back to us around questions and variations.
The final build has received compliments from every one of our AirBnB guests who have stayed in it and we are delighted with the quality of the build.
